A Very Literate Dinner
Last Wednesday night I had the great pleasure of meeting Dawn of She is Too Fond of Books and Sandy of You've GOTTA read this! for an amazing dinner at Citricos, located in Disney’s Grand Floridian. The food was, of course, amazing, but the highlight of the evening was dishing with two of the most interesting and relevant bloggers on the scene today. We shared a bit about the books we loved and hated, the inside details of our respective book clubs and the many nuances of being a book blogger. Our dinner lasted over 3½ hours and not for a moment did things get stale or topics get sparse. We dished about our families and histories, and shared our optimism about the new directions our blogs were taking us. We even had a blast in our efforts to find our way back to Dawn’s hotel. It’s always funny to me that book bloggers can create such strong ties with each other over virtual space, and when they finally meet each other in person, there’s such an immediate connection and a shared passion. It was a great evening out and I’m so thankful I got to spend such a great time in such esteemed company. Here’s a shot of the three of us at the restaurant bar, a photo which includes Phillip the chef, who seemed to sneak his way into almost every picture we took!

What a great group of ladies! I wish I could have been there because I know how wonderful all three of you are. If someone had told me 5 years ago that it was possible to make such wonderful friends online, I never would have believed them. Book bloggers are the best!
I wish I could have been there too! (and obviously so did the chef!)
LOL, that is so funny about the chef!
You all look so great! I'm glad you had such a good time and oh how I wish I could have been there! I agree with you - it is amazing the strong bonds that have cropped up among so many of us.
So much fun! And hey, you were the reason we got back to Dawn's hotel...you and my iPhone. I'm still chuckling about that.
How fun, Heather! It sounds like a truly wonderful evening. :)
I have stayed at the Grand Californian Hotel in Disneyland, and it's surprisingly elegant, and has at least one nice restaurant.
How fun! I'm so jealous Dawn got to meet you, LOL! :-)
Looks like a fun evening!
Oh wow, what fun!! I've never met another book blogger in person but I can only imagine how awesome it would be. Chef's quite a character, eh? ;O)
What fun! I wish I could have joined in or been a fly on the wall! I have yet to meet a fellow blogger but I sure hope to someday.
And did the chef slip you some extra treats? He seemed to really dig you guys!
This sounded like a perfect perfect time. You lucky ladies.
Sounds like a lot of fun! I know that on the few occasions I have met other bloggers we always had plenty of things to talk about!
Hopefully you will get to meet up again soon.
This is so nice. I fancy such a meeting. Book bloggers are the most fascinating people you would meet. I remember the day I met Kinna in person. We hit the ground running, if I may say so. It was fun... nice pix and a great group to find yourself in.
What fun! I wish I could have joined you all too. (For some reason, Albany is not a vacation destination for bloggers!)
What a great dinner group! It's awesome the 3 of you were able to get together for such a nice uninterrupted length of time. I've always believed books make the best of friends :o)
The sneaky little chef. LOL.
I love posts about book bloggers meeting. I live halfway across the world from most book bloggers, but, through the Internet, I've interacted and made friends with so many of them. The book blogging community is the best. :)
Aw, how fun! I've only had the pleasure of meeting one other book blogger (Amanda from the Zen Leaf), but I think it was much the same as you describe- we had tons to talk about as we talked about books :-)
I hope WE get to meet soon!
Looks like such fun!! What a great picture!!
I guess you guys really did have a great dinner; you're comments almost mirror Dawn's! My husband always laughs when I talk about my blogging "friends" but we really do get to know a lot about each other, don't we?!
That sounds like so much fun! I've yet to meet a blogger I've met online in real life. It must be an amazing experience!
Oh congrats! That sounds like such a great time :)
Oh, we did have fun! How does 3.5 hours pass so quickly (I know, talking, eating, talking, laughing, talking!).
We barely stopped for a breath - like we had all known each other for years.
So great when the online friendships mesh so well "in real life"!!
